I think he is being reasonable in separating the content of religious beliefs, with which he disagrees, from the intent of the fellow who gave him the Bible. I believe Objectivists too often throw the person out with the holy water, meaning they assume someone who is religious automatically is irrational, a whim worshipping mystic.
