Dialogue with Buddhists

Peter Saint-Andre points me to Savaka Sukhothaia’s essay “A Call to Objectivists and Randians for Dialogue with Buddhists.”
Wow. I have been groping toward this kind of thing for a couple years, and I’m fascinated and intrigued to come across this invitation from a member of the Buddhist community.
I will be writing more about this after I get my thoughts together. Read the essay and stay tuned!
One Response to “Dialogue with Buddhists”

Joshua,
I really like this essay. These are ideas I often had in my mind while reading “The Feeling Buddha”. The parallels between eudaimonism, Buddhism, and objectivism are impossible to ignore. Of course, it depends on what sort of Buddhism we are talking about, and Brazier’s obvious leftism is disappointing. When confronted with the contradiction between a peaceful existence and the coercion of socialism, many leftists Buddhists might rethink their politics.
